a) Fill out a “New Home Wish List” provided free.

 

        Keep in mind the future. Will your family be growing, or will you soon be empty nesters? If your family grows can the home plan you choose accommodate an addition, or can the basement be finished? If so, will there be legal size bedroom windows in this area?

 

b) Determine the price range of home you would like to build. Remember you may not want to have the most expensive home in the area. This may help in gaining more equity at resale.

 

c) Determine the payment by using the “payment calculator”.

 

d) Have a general idea of how many years you plan on living in the home.

 

e) Research blue prints for desired style and floor plan, per your “Wish List”. Possible places to find plans are:

        Magazines

        Internet

        Architects

        Builders

        Home Builders Association
